Headlight restoration aerosol varnish

Dedicated to the proud owners of cars with plastic headlights. Yes, it is with plastic ones, since we are talking about such a thing as an aerosol varnish for restoring headlights, which, like any other varnish for this purpose, is used only for this type of best headlight restoration kit.

Why you need to restore headlights

With our roads, only have time to repair the car. Pits kill the chassis, the body rots from substances that literally flood the roads in winter, and the headlights suffer from sand and other abrasive material that finds you in the city, on the highway and, especially, in the countryside. Therefore, along with the repair and painting of cars, the headlights must also be protected and restored. It is with this task that the repair varnish helps us.

Its main purpose is to protect the headlights from scratches and cloudiness over time. Any modern car leaves the assembly line already with a protective lacquer coating. Its service life depends on the operating conditions, but sooner or later, it will have to be changed. We can go to the service station or do everything ourselves. To do this, we need to buy varnish, a whole set of sandpaper, masking tape and be patient. You can buy everything at once in one place online in the Avtomalyar store.

Why is it better to choose an aerosol varnish

There are two types of varnish on the market: aerosol and two-component. The latter is more expensive, and it still needs to be properly prepared, and the varnish in the bottle is immediately ready for use after thorough shaking. Yes, and its price is a little, but still lower. But it is about the main advantage, namely application, that we will talk about further.

How to use spray varnish to restore headlights.

The technology itself is not complicated, but it takes time and patience, since you need to grind a lot and carefully. So:

·         Step 1. It is best to remove the headlight completely. If you do not touch it, then the quality of work will not suffer, but additional inconveniences are guaranteed.

·         Step 2. You can wash and dry (blow) the glass, but the first step is to sand the headlight. With a typewriter or with a grinder with a circle - whatever is at hand. We start with P500 sandpaper. After this treatment, we put the tool aside and get ready to work with pens. We need to sand the headlight with P800, P1000, P1500, P2000 and P3000 sandpaper. A new stage - smaller and smaller paper

·         Step 3. Wash the headlamp with a lint-free cloth, degrease it with a suitable agent (it is better to use the one indicated in the instructions). We also take masking tape or what is lying around at hand, and protect those parts that are not involved in this business.

·         Step 4. Shake the can of varnish for about 20 minutes, train to apply first on another surface, and then proceed to the headlight itself. We apply in two layers perpendicular to one another - if the first layer is from left to right, then the other - from top to bottom or vice versa. Take a 15 minute break between application, after the second application let the varnish dry for at least 1 hour (this is at a temperature of 23 degrees)

·         Step 5. Drive and enjoy, but not wash the car for a week or two.
